man logrotate

logrotate [options] configfile

Options:

• -v Verbose mode
• -d Dry-run (and verbose)
• -f Force (rotates again in the same day)

 Config file:

Main: /etc/logrotate.conf
Custom: for example files in /etc/logrotate.d/

Log file of logrotate runs

/var/lib/logrotate.status

Troubleshooting

• files in /etc/logrotate.d/ must be owned by root:root
